Cleansers to Balance the Skin

Experts agree that the best facial cleansers are gentle yet effective enough to remove all the oil, dirt and make-up from the skin, without drying it out. People with oilier skins should look out for water-soluble cleansers which are fragrance-free. Those with dryer skin should opt for creamy or oil based cleansers which don’t foam as much, but also dissolve oil and make-up but leave it soft not dry.

How to Cleanse the Skin

Whichever type of cleanser you choose there’s a right way to go about this essential first step in your beauty regime. For really fresh tingly clean skin follow these steps:
1. First of all steam your face. Simply boil the kettle and pour into a bowl, pop a towel over your head and hold the bowl near your face for around 5-10 minutes.
2. Next wash your face with warm water and a cleanser suited to your skin type. Massage skin gently.
3. Rinse your face thoroughly ensuring that all the product is gone. A final rinse can be done with cold water to close those pores.
4. Pat - don’t rub - skin dry. Rubbing can irritate the skin and encourage the spread of bacteria. Once it’s mainly dry leave to air dry for a few minutes.
5. Moisturize with a product suited to your skin.

How often should you cleanse the skin?

You can wash your skin in the morning and at night if your skin is not too dry. You can also add a mask into your skin care program, once or twice a week. Gratiae’s Purifying Facial Cleanser uses thermo-mineral water, organic oils and restorative natural flora to thoroughly cleanse the skin. The gentle 5.5pH balanced cleanser is perfect for daily use since it won’t dry out the skin.
